Laura Kruger 

Laura Elizabeth Kruger, 20, of Mauston, Wis., passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011, in Madison. She was born in Mauston, Feb. 4, 1991.

Laura was on her way home from babysitting when she entered a curve just 2 miles from her house.  We were told that the man in the other car was going about 70 mph in her lane.  WRJC.com posted that the man told the deputy he had taken a picture with his cell phone and was going to send it to his friends in the Dells.  Laura was sent to UW Madison Hospital and had several severe injuries.  She died on Tuesday Oct. 18, 2011.

She attended St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran School in Wonewoc and was a 2009 Graduate of Wonewoc-Center High School. She was currently in her third year at University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie.

Laura had just completed her first season at Captain Ron's Original Dells Jet Boats.  She was an exceptional employee that could diffuse any situation.  All of the Captains and other ticket sales staff enjoyed working with her.  Her talents were broad and she always greeted everyone with a beautiful smile.  Even though she only worked one season she was asked to manage the ticket booth in the 2012 season.  She accepted with enthusiasm and said she was up for the challenge. 

Laura had a strong passion for performing piano, vocal and instrumental music, as well as acting in drama productions. She had an eye for photography and enjoyed numerous other arts and crafts as well. Everyone enjoyed her quirky sense of humor, and she will be sorely missed.

Our Jet Boat family is so very blessed to have had Laura in our lives, even if it was for such a short time.  We pray for her family and friends.  And we urge everyone to be safe on the road.  Please don't text and drive!  It's not just you that can get hurt.  Thanks to those of you that have been sending healing thoughts to her family, friends and entire jet boat family.  We really appreciate it. 

 

 

Laura did have to get several units of blood while she was in the hospital.  We urge everyone to give blood.  You can make a huge difference!!!!
